The role

As a Staff Software Engineer on the Platform team at Midi Health, you will design and oversee the core technical infrastructure that powers our virtual care platform. Your work is essential to ensuring our clinicians can provide seamless care while maintaining the highest standards of security and developer productivity.

What you'll do

  • Define technical direction for core services including authentication, notifications, and shared libraries
  • Develop and maintain developer productivity tools, CI/CD pipelines, and internal tooling
  • Lead high-impact cross-cutting initiatives across cloud and data infrastructure
  • Enforce security and compliance standards necessary for a HIPAA-regulated environment
  • Optimize platform ergonomics to improve the developer experience for internal product teams
  • Manage observability and system reliability strategies to ensure consistent platform performance

Qualifications

Must have

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Deep expertise in cloud technologies and distributed systems
  • Proven experience building and maintaining shared libraries or developer tooling
  • Solid understanding of HIPAA compliance and security best practices in a healthcare environment

Nice to have

  • Prior experience leading large-scale technical initiatives in a high-growth startup environment
  • Advanced knowledge of API design and service-oriented architecture
  • Experience improving developer velocity through paved paths and automated CI/CD workflows
