The engagement

ClearBooks Analytics is seeking a Workday Financial Reporting Developer to automate the financial close process by building a suite of trial balance, P&L, and balance sheet reports. This engagement is critical for transitioning the client away from manual Excel-based workflows to a streamlined, cloud-based reporting environment. You will play a key role in ensuring finance stakeholders have accurate, real-time data to support decision-making.

Scope & deliverables

  • Automated trial balance and P&L report suite
  • Custom Workday Worksheets for management pack reporting
  • Technical configuration design documents
  • SIT and UAT defect analysis and resolution reports
  • Operational runbooks for knowledge transfer
Month 1Requirements gathering and initial technical design for core financial statements
Month 2Build phase completion for trial balance and P&L reports with unit testing
Month 3Development of management pack automation and initial SIT support
Month 4Execution of UAT cycles and resolution of production-readiness defects
Month 5Final documentation hand-off, knowledge transfer, and project go-live

What you'll do

  • Design and build composite financial statements and matrix reports within Workday
  • Develop Workday Worksheets-based management reporting packs to replace legacy offline processes
  • Translate functional business requirements into detailed technical specifications
  • Execute unit testing and support SIT and UAT cycles through defect resolution
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, configuration decisions, and operational runbooks
  • Collaborate with functional leads and finance stakeholders in an agile delivery environment

Qualifications

Must have

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Workday Report Writer and Composite Reports
  • Proven delivery experience on at least two full-lifecycle Workday finance implementations
  • Strong proficiency in Workday Financial Statements, Worksheets, and Calculated Fields
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP accounting principles and financial close workflows
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field

Nice to have

  • Active Workday platform certifications
  • Prior experience working within agile or hybrid ERP delivery models
  • Familiarity with adjacent Workday finance modules or middleware integrations
