The engagement

This engagement involves a comprehensive build-out of customer billing and receivables modules for a B2B services company migrating to Workday. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless transition to the new system, directly impacting financial accuracy and operational efficiency for the client.

Scope & deliverables

  • Workday AR configuration workbook
  • SIT and UAT test case documentation
  • Detailed process flow maps for accounts receivable workflows
  • Post-implementation hypercare support log and resolution report
Month 1Complete discovery and current state documentation for AR processes
Month 2Finalize configuration of billing schedules and revenue categories
Month 3Execute System Integration Testing (SIT) and defect remediation
Month 4Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and obtain final sign-offs
Month 5Execute cutover plan and system go-live
Month 6Provide stabilization support and assist with the first month-end close

What you'll do

  • Facilitate design workshops to translate finance requirements into Workday AR configurations
  • Configure customer billing schedules, cash application rules, and collection workflows
  • Prepare and execute test scenarios for SIT and UAT, tracking all defects to resolution
  • Produce configuration workbooks, design documentation, and process flow diagrams for audit review
  • Advise finance stakeholders on leading practices and the downstream accounting impacts of design choices
  • Support cutover, go-live activities, and post-implementation issue triage

Qualifications

Must have

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience specifically with Workday AR and Customer Billing
  • Successful delivery of at least two full-lifecycle Workday implementation projects
  • Deep working knowledge of Cash Application, Collections, and Revenue Categories
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP principles and financial close processes
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field

Nice to have

  • Active Workday platform certifications
  • CPA license or prior public accounting and audit experience
  • Specific industry experience aligned with the client’s sector
